Nvidia, which recently announced the first graphics cards of Ada Lovelace architecture, RTX 4090, RTX 4080 16GB and RTX 4080 12 GB models, seems to continue to update the RTX 30 Ampere series. Now a Lenovo OEM parts retailer has listed the mid-range model of the series, the RTX 3060, with GDDR6X memory.

Other models in the series can also be updated

According to previous leaks, the RTX 3060 was expected to be refreshed with an affordable 8GB version. But until now, no one has mentioned that this GPU will come with a faster memory type. Looking at the features of the card, which is listed as “Lenovo RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6X”, it is noteworthy that the reference features are preserved.

The maximum clock speed of the card is 1.78 GHz, and the maximum power consumption is 170W. Also, interestingly, the product code of the new graphics card is the same as the Lenovo RTX 3060 GDDR6 model.

A memory upgrade to the GDDR6X standard today offers higher memory speed and bandwidth, while at the same time bringing higher power consumption. Therefore, we can say that it is too early to say whether the listing is right or wrong. If we accept that it is true, other models in the series may also get memory upgrades in the near future.
