YouTube wants to offer a first-ever gaming experience on the platform after the video. A new report that has emerged has shown that the company is testing online gaming services. Thanks to the tool called Playables, it will be possible to test some games on YouTube.
YouTube will play games with Playables
YouTube’s gaming feature has been leaked in a new email to Google employees. While engineers were asked to test the new feature, it was reported that the online gaming experience on the platform will begin with Playables. It has been reported that the vehicle, which is still under development, currently supports the arcade game Stack Bounce.
It is not clear for now how the Playables feature in YouTube will work. However, according to the details shared within the scope of the e-mail, small-scale productions will be presented in the first stage. Testers will be able to access these games from the YouTube site or application.
A while ago, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan admitted that ad spend on the platform was declining. Considering YouTube’s gaming audience, expanding the platform in this area seems logical.
It seems that the games to be presented in the first stage will be small-scale arcade productions. However, demos of some popular productions can be played on YouTube in the future. Some rumors even claimed that big budget games can be tested thanks to cloud support.
It should be noted that the Playables feature is currently in the testing phase and is accessible to Google employees. So when YouTube will get game support is currently unclear.
