Japan-based multinational video game development and publishing company SEGA decided to postpone its plans for NFT content in the past months after criticism from fans on social media and made statements that it may shelve its NFT plans. Now, SEGA has announced that it will add NFTs to its upcoming games.

SEGA To Include NFTs In Its Games

SEGA announced plans to add NFT to future games in an interview with various executives and producers. During the interview, the company talked more about SuperGame projects, confirming that there will be multiple games in the project.

In the interview, company executive VP Shuji Utsumi explained that all upcoming games will be interactive games that go beyond the traditional gaming framework.

Producer Masayoshi Kikuchi explained in part of the interview that some of the “SuperGames” may have NFTs. Expressing that expanding it to include new areas such as cloud games and NFTs is a natural extension for the future of the game, the producer stated that they are assertive that they will improve in this regard.
