Microsoft promised to introduce a new look and enhanced security features with Windows 11, as well as bring some nice features for users. One of them was that we would be able to play Android games directly on Windows without using any emulators. Today, there is a magnificent announcement that is independent of this feature.
At The Game Awards 2021, held today, Google took the stage in a surprising way. The giant company made the long-awaited announcement and announced that Android games will come to Windows. Android games will be playable on the Windows operating system together with ‘Google Play Games’ in 2022.
Games from Google Play are coming to Windows 11
With this project, which Google has been developing for a long time, Android phone and tablet games in the Google Play Games ecosystem will be playable on Windows computers and ChromeOS devices at the same time. Although Google has not shared details about its new system, we will definitely learn details about the application to be released for Windows in the coming days.
According to Google’s latest statement, Google Play Games hosts more than 2.5 billion users every month today. This service, which is included in the Google Play service, is included in most Android games and allows developers to add features such as achievements and anti-piracy to their games. Its mobile application, on the other hand, acts as a social media for games in a way. Google will also release the Google Play Games application for PC, allowing Google Play games to be played on Windows as well.
Google did not specify any dates other than ‘2022’.
No agreements with Microsoft:
Google has not partnered with Microsoft or any company to bring games from the Play Store to Windows. The company will do this with its completely self-developed application. On the other hand, Microsoft’s work to run Android applications and games directly on Windows continues in a separate place. Developing its own emulator technology, Microsoft currently allows Insider users to try this technology through applications in the Amazon Appstore.
