Samsung’s popular smart watch series Galaxy Watch, with the Galaxy Watch 4 introduced in August 2021, left the Tizen operating system behind and switched to Wear OS. The Galaxy Watch 4 series was highly appreciated with its health and fitness tools. Samsung plans to announce the next model of the Galaxy Watch series in August this year.
Galaxy Watch 5 can measure body temperature
The sensors, which are the most important tools in smart watches, have been increasing over the years. It has been known that Samsung and Apple have been trying to add thermometers to their smart watches for body temperature measurement for a while. The technology, which was difficult to develop due to body movement, outside heat, and heat from the sun, may finally be ready. According to the news from ETNews, Samsung will add a thermometer to the Galaxy Watch 5 due to the impact of COVID-19 on wearable technologies. Although the details of the thermometer in Samsung’s smart watches are not known, it has been stated that the body temperature will be measured “as accurately as possible”.
Galaxy Buds with Thermometer may also be on the way
Also, according to information received, Samsung has developed an infrared thermometer for Galaxy Buds. For the release of Galaxy Buds, the prototype of which has been completed, Samsung has not made a final decision and is evaluating potential release dates. It seems that Samsung will continue to develop wearable technology devices in the field of health and fitness. The Galaxy Watch 5 series is expected to be introduced together with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 at the Unpacked event to be held in August.
