However, the chip division managed to achieve an operating profit of around $7.5 billion, up 42%. It is stated that DRAM shipments increased by 9 percent and NAND demand increased by around 2 percent.

Samsung, whose display division remained relatively weak, is estimated to have sold $58.4 billion in the second quarter, up 20 percent. Operating profit will rise 15.6 percent to around $11 billion.
