With Samsung finished releasing all its high-end phones for this year, it’s time to talk about the next major upgrade. The Galaxy S24 series is expected to be officially announced in February 2024 and some of its specs have already been leaked. A new rumor claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have an updated display and an improved camera.
According to reliable leak resource Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature an updated display. While the source did not reveal exactly how this update will offer an upgrade, it is expected to be the new M13 OLED panel with higher peak brightness. The Galaxy S23 Ultra reaches a maximum brightness of 1,750 nits, while the peak brightness of rival phones from Apple, OPPO and Xiaomi reaches over 2,000 nits. This is an area where Samsung obviously needs an upgrade.
Most smartphone brands use the QHD+ resolution for their flagship phones, and color accuracy and refresh rates on high-end phones reached a level not long ago where improvements were imperceptible to most people. Therefore, the only area where smartphone brands are expected to bring improvements next year is peak screen brightness for better visibility in outdoor conditions. In addition, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to have a titanium frame, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a faster processor.
Both phones are expected to have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Also, the Galaxy S24+ may have a larger battery.
