The Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has been on the agenda with rumors for a long time, was displayed in Geekbench Vulkan tests with surprising performance. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the flagship phone can be a tight competitor to the iPhone 14 Pro family.

Up to 58 percent faster than Galaxy S22

Reportedly, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will be equipped with the Qualcomm Adreno 740, the most powerful integrated graphics unit ever for Android phones. According to recent Geekbench benchmarks, this new GPU achieves an astonishing score of 9844 to 10744 on the Vulkan API.

Thus, we can say that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will come with an integrated graphics unit that is up to 58 percent more powerful than the previous generation Adreno 730. In addition, new scores show that the Adreno 740 can even surpass the Apple A16 Bionic, which we encounter in iPhone 14 Pro models.

To recall, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Adreno 730 were manufactured by Samsung using the 4 nm 4LPE process. However, Qualcomm moved the production of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to TSMC due to the efficiency problems experienced in Samsung Foundry. It seems that Samsung made a wise decision to use TSMC-manufactured chips in the Galaxy S23 series. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Adreno 740 could be a big selling point for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
