Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ passed FCC approval this week, along with LED View covers designed for these phones. There is no confirmation news about the Galaxy S22 Ultra yet, but it is certain to come soon. All three phones are expected to hit the stage at the same Galaxy Unpacked event in February.
The confirmation report shows that the FCC has tested the Galaxy S22 with a Samsung battery bearing the model number EB-BS906ABY. The same battery was spotted at 3C a few months ago and confirmed to have a nominal capacity of 4,370 mAh. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, as we said above, has not yet appeared; however, this model is thought to be powered by a battery with a nominal capacity of 4,855 mAh.
The LED View covers, on the other hand, have model numbers EF-NS901 and EF-NS906 respectively, but these covers do not have a new feature. Another interesting point highlighted by the FCC documents is that the Galaxy S22 series, or at least the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+, benefit from tons of connection standards. According to the FCC document, Galaxy S22 supports GSM, WCDMA, LTE FDD, LTE TDD and 5G bands.
The Galaxy S22 also benefits from UWB (Ultra-Wide Band), NFC and Wi-Fi 6E, and of course supports wireless charging and power sharing. Like the Galaxy S21, it is thought that the base model of the Galaxy S22 will not have UWB support.
