It has been a hot topic for many years that animals can talk to each other in their own language. In the videos that we see frequently on the Internet, people claim that their pets ‘talk’ and even sing.

The way of communication between animals still remains a controversial issue. What about other creatures? Many scientists say that a communication path between plants and fungi is not possible. But research emerging today suggests that fungi can communicate through electrical activity.

they use close to 50 words

Professor Andrew Adamatzky from the University of the West of England discovered that there is some kind of electrical activity among the mushroom species he studied. By placing electrodes on the tops of Enoki, caterpillars, split gills, and ghost mushrooms, Adamatzky recorded the electrical activity emitted by each. He discovered that the sounds coming from the hat parts of mushrooms are a communication language of about 50 words.

Adamatzky said, “We thought that the electrical activity of the fungus was generated by information transmitted between fungal colonies.” At the same time, the team claimed that the fungus also used this language to communicate with its various parts. So, according to research, mushrooms are not just among themselves; they are also talking to themselves. Despite the results he found in his research, Adamatzky is also open to the idea that mushrooms cannot talk, and he continues to question this situation.

Adamatzky did not neglect to share a recording of his research
