Indian Greenleap Robotics introduced Lotus A4000, a fully autonomous and waterless panel cleaning robot. The new robot is compatible with both rooftop and ground-mounted solar panels and farm installations. On the other hand, the cleaning of solar panels is extremely important in terms of energy efficiency. Dirty panels do not receive enough sunlight and their efficiency decreases significantly.

The newly developed Lotus A4000 does not require any water or water-based components to clean the panels. The robot cleans dirty panels using powerful airflow and ultra-soft microfiber-like cleaning fins. During cleaning, the anti-reflective coatings on the panels are not damaged. The company reports that their solutions are 10 percent more efficient than wet cleaning.

It works completely autonomously

The robot is powered by an onboard lithium battery and can complete a single cleaning cycle of a 1 MWp solar plant in less than 2.5 hours, according to the company. A full charge of the robot’s battery takes less than two hours. The robot’s charging station is also solar powered, and the robot can charge itself on the charger.

The robots are equipped with automotive-grade components and a 4G-based communication system. Vehicles can be controlled separately to ensure maximum performance via a special web application offered by Greenleap Robotics.

Greenleap Robotics states that the Lotus A4000 can achieve a cleaning time of approximately three hours on a single charge. The robot comes standard with a 12 Ah/25.6 V battery, but it also has an 18 Ah/25.6 V battery option, which increases the cleaning time by up to 4.5 hours.
