Leading crypto asset platform FTX has partnered with African payments firm AZA Finance. According to Wednesday’s announcement, the move will work in five key areas for the development of web 3 in Africa, such as providing deposit and withdrawal support using African fiat currencies on the FTX platform, and work to improve Africa’s web 3 infrastructure. FTX also plans to include African NFT artists on its platform through the move.

Elizabeth Rossiello, founder and CEO of AZA Finance, told The Block about the lack of regulatory clarity in the space:

“We have tight controls and currently We are licensed by central banks and financial supervisors on three continents. We look forward to partnering with FTX to further expand its presence in Africa. Our strategy is to work closely with all regulators to ensure that any work in the African market in this context is fully compliant and in the interest of African users.”
