FTX, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has acquired Canadian cryptocurrency exchange Bitvo.
FTX has acquired Canadian crypto exchange Bitvo as part of its efforts to expand in North America. According to the official announcement, the acquisition is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year. The move comes after FTX US chairman Brett Harrison voiced his priority in acquiring regulated crypto companies. Bitvo’s workforce will be integrated into FTX’s global team following the acquisition.
FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried said the acquisition means an ongoing journey of global expansion and working proactively with regulators.
