FSP Group has announced the next generation standard, ATX 3.0 power supplies with PCIe 5.0 support. The updated FSP power supplies are designed to meet the needs of next-generation graphics cards, including the Nvidia RTX 4000 series.

Traditional power supplies will need 3×8 pin, 16 pin adapters to feed PCIe Gen 5.0 compatible video cards. On the other hand, power supplies that support PCIe 5.0 (12VHPWR) will provide higher and more stable power current with 12+4 pin cable and connector. According to FSP, the new power supplies announced are also suitable for overclocking scenarios.

FSP announces new generation power supplies

Hydro G PRO power supplies equipped with the new ATX 3.0 update will be the first to hit the shelves. Next will be the Hydro PTM PRO, Hydro GT PRO and Hydro PTM X PRO power supplies, respectively. All power supplies will have Gold and Platinum and variants ranging from 850W to 1200W. Prices will also vary by model, from $149 to $299. Additionally, the SFX form factor DAGGER PRO series 850W and 1000W power supplies designed with PCIe Gen 5 & V4.0 compatibility will be released in Q4 of this year, along with FSP’s new Hydro Ti PRO ATX 3.0 PSUs. The new Hydro Ti PRO series will be the first PCIe 5.0 powered ATX 3.0 power supply with Titanium efficiency.
FSP will also change the packaging of products so that we can distinguish refurbished power supplies from older versions. At the same time, labels showing the new generation PCIe 5.0 and ATX 3.0 technologies will be placed on the power supplies and packaging.
