Niantic, the creator of Pokemon Go, released the Pikmin Bloom game, which it developed in partnership with Nintendo. Pikmin, which was announced to have started the testing phase in March, was opened to users in Singapore. It has been gradually released globally starting today, starting in Singapore and Australia.
Announcing that the game has become available on its Twitter account, Niantic said, “Let’s fill the world with flowers. The application makes your daily life magical by walking.” Pikmin Bloom, on the other hand, announced that the game was developed to “make walking more enjoyable” in the announcement he shared on his own account.
Pikmin Bloom is based on Augmented Reality (AR)
The game has similarities with Pokemon Go in terms of gameplay. Flowers etc in Pikmin Bloom. You have little toys inspired by plants. These are called ‘pikmin’. When you start the game and hold your smartphone’s camera on a table or road while walking on the street, you can see the peaks as if they are really where you are thanks to AR technology.
In the game, which is designed to encourage people to take a walk and discover new places, pikmins follow you as you step on the street. You have to meet their nutritional needs. You have to constantly find new places to find and collect plants that they can eat.
When you give pikmins a red fruit, they produce ‘red flower seeds’. Then you plant these seeds they produce on the roads and thus the flower grows. This way you can level up. Niantic CEO John Hanke also said that Pikmin Bloom has a ‘multiplayer mode’. This mod allows you to create a garden by growing flowers together with other players.
Since it is new, it is not widely used yet.
Pikmin Bloom is currently available in Singapore and Australia. It is unclear when it will arrive in other countries. Pokemon Go, which was released in 2016, has officially arrived in our country this year. It is not impossible to experience the same situation in Pikmin Bloom. Niantic or Nintendo are expected to share more details in the coming days.
So what do you think about the new game? Can it seriously contribute to walking and discovering new places, as claimed? Do not forget to indicate your comments.
