Looking for a new alternative to Twitter owned by Elon Musk? Jack Dorsey, the original architect of Twitter, may have an idea for you: Bluesky Social.The new social network will have a “decentralized” structure and its main feature will be the ability to transfer accounts from other networks to this network. Bluesky Social also promises the ability to switch between different platforms using a single app. The app itself is currently being tested in closed mode but will soon be available to the public.
It will work differently from familiar social networks
Frankly, for now it is difficult to understand how such a social network would work. But Dorsey’s platform will have a few key features: the ability to migrate their accounts there, “algorithmic selection”, “interaction” and “performance”. To summarize, users will be able to move between multiple social platforms using a single app, control what others see and how much data is shared with the social network.
A timeline for when Bluesky Social will be available has yet to be announced.
