The new beta of Tesla Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, which does not stop with the fiasco news, has been released. The update, which came to vehicles with the version number ‘FSD Beta 10.6’, was expected to improve the autonomous driving system, but on the contrary, it brought other problems with the potential to cause driver accidents.
A YouTube channel called AI Addict went for a 20-minute test drive with the tool that it installed the Full Self-Driving Beta 10.6 update. AI Addict, who recorded those moments on camera and shared them on YouTube, revealed that the technology is still not perfect.
Full Self-Driving (FSD) endangered a citizen
In the first minutes of the video, Full Self-Driving technology works smoothly when the car is not on complex roads. While it moves on its own without the need for the driver’s intervention, the problems in the FSD Beta 10.6 version begin to appear with the entry of the side roads.
There was a delay in Tesla’s map while driving. The car drove itself towards the tracks where public transport was supposed to go. While the vehicle was cornering, it almost hit a pedestrian on the road, and a possible accident was averted by the driver’s steering wheel. AI Addict also had trouble manually controlling the vehicle when face-to-face with a parked truck.
Due to Full Self-Driving, the driver sometimes faced the danger of hitting a traffic light in the side streets. In the last example, Tesla alarmed loudly, telling the driver that he needed to regain control. Despite serious problems, the test drive was completed without incident.
Tesla recalled thousands of vehicles
Full Self-Driving technology is not the only problem Tesla users have. In November, the company recalled 7,600 2021 Model S and Model X vehicles due to airbags that were found to be faulty enough to not adequately protect the driver.
Tesla stated that torn airbags pose a great risk to drivers. He emphasized that if he does not change, he will not be able to protect drivers well in a possible accident. In the information given to the drivers of the vehicles, it was reported that the changes will be made in January. As part of the exchange program, driver airbags of problematic Model X and Model S vehicles will be replaced free of charge.
