Jason Voorhees passed away last ‘Friday’

Actor and stuntman Ted White, who played the character of Jason Voorhees in the movie Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, which was released 38 years ago, passed away on Friday night at the age of 96.

White’s onscreen roles consisted mainly of small episodes from movies like Tron or Romancing the Stone, many of which were not even mentioned. In a timely interview, White admitted that he agreed to play Jason because he needed the money.

When the producers asked him to act for A New Beginning and Jason Lives, White turned them down. He never returned to the Friday the 13th series, although he appeared in two documentaries about the series, which aired in 2009 and 2013, respectively.
