The artworks and untold family stories of the world-famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo are transferred to the metaverse.
Frida Kahlo’s family brought never-before-seen artworks and artist-related memorabilia to the metaverse. The artworks were first featured in a permanent exhibition during the annual Metaverse Art Week in Decentraland for the third time. Now it can be visited inside a building that represents the family’s home in real life.
Frida Kahlo Works at Red House in Metaverse
Metaverse users can now experience Frida Kahlo’s artworks in a digital copy of “Red House” along with personal anecdotes told by close family members.
The Red House with the artwork represents a real-life version of the family-owned Red House located in Mexico City. However, in the metaverse version of Red House, each room features stories from little-known parts of the artist’s life prior to his relationship with Mexican painter Diego Rivera.
The founders of Ezel, the company responsible for archival materials, said they collected about 800 different pieces of Frida, including sketches, original artwork and other objects used in everyday life. Each piece of content was created using at least 30 different images and videos with high-definition video tools.
