Due to US embargoes and restrictions in China, many manufacturers, including Apple, have turned their focus to the Indian market. In this context, Apple, which started negotiations with Foxconn and its production partners, plans to increase the weight of India in production. Now a leading Apple supplier, Foxconn has made a significant investment in its Apple facility in India.

Huge investment from Foxconn to Apple facility

For those who don’t know, Foxconn continues to work on the production facility built in Telangana, India. In a short statement, Telangana’s IT minister announced that Foxconn will invest $500 million in the region. The groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of a new era for the region, as the new investment is expected to create 25,000 direct job opportunities.

It should be noted that the new news is simultaneous with Apple’s plans to establish its own production facility in the state of Karnataka. Reportedly, this investment will increase the country’s production capacity and attract more investment in the technology sector. The facility, which plans to manufacture iPhones locally, is expected to create around 100,000 jobs.

Apple’s decision to establish a manufacturing facility in Karnataka reveals the company’s long-term plans for the Indian market. For those who don’t know, the iPhone 13 was the best selling phone in India in the last quarter of 2022. In this context, Foxconn’s work seems to have gained momentum.

As a matter of fact, recent reports say that one of every iPhone model produced by 2027 will come from India. We can say that this situation shows us that we will reach a level of 50 percent.
