The WearOS operating system, which received criticism for a long time, was completely renewed by Google and Samsung last year. WearOS 3, which includes performance improvements as well as new features, remained exclusive to Galaxy Watch devices for a year, but now other companies have started to use the new Wear OS operating system.

Google Assistant and Google Fit support not ready

Fossil Gen 6 devices, which debuted with the Wear OS 2 operating system in the past months, started to receive the new Wear OS update as of today. The update, which comes with a renewed interface and performance improvements, unfortunately comes based on Wear OS 3.2 instead of Wear OS 3.5. Fossil stated that this will not cause any problems and will update Fossil Gen 6 devices when Wear OS 3.5 is released for Snapdragon Wear 4100 processors. Also, the update does not include Google Fit and Google Assistant services. But Amazon’s Alexa assistant is available.

The update released for Fossil Gen 6, Skagen Falster Gen 6, Michael Kors Gen 6 and Razer x Fossil Gen 6 devices causes all data on the device to be deleted. After the update, users need to download the Fossil app on Android or iOS and connect to the device again. iOS users, unfortunately, will not use the Google Wallet system.
