The fifth leg of the Formula 1 2022 season, the Miami Grand Prix, which was held for the first time this year, came to an end with the night race after exciting practice laps and qualifying session. The race, where Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen continued their championship fight, hosted a safety car.
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen was the winner of the Miami Grand Prix, which took 57 laps on the 5.4-kilometer track. Verstappen, who started the race from the third row, passed Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz on the first lap and moved up to second place. He then took the lead from Charles Leclerc with his attack in the 9th lap.
