Crypto Innovation Council (CCI), a coalition group of big firms aiming to lobby politicians on the crypto issue, has chosen the former director of the World Economic Forum (WEF) as its new CEO.
According to Bloomberg’s report, Sheila Warren will lead the group, which includes important companies such as Coinbase, Fidelity, Block and Andreessen Horowitz.
Warren served as Head of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Head of Data, Blockchain and Digital Assets, and member of the Executive Committee at the WEF.
CCI was launched in April of last year to enforce policies regarding digital assets. Since then, crypto has become a bigger problem within regulators.
Especially in recent months, unprecedented sums have been devoted to lobbying to resolve crypto issues. CCI had to spend $60,000 on a contract with law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck.
According to Bloomberg, CCI plans to focus on domestic crypto issues in the short term. However, Warren expressed that he wanted to focus on global politics and emphasized that he plans to develop the international connections he established during his tenure at the WEF.
