Elon MUSK’s acquisition of Twitter this week made many think about whether the company policies implemented by the previous Twitter administration should be continued. Donald TRUMP is also curious about the new fate of Twitter.

Donald TRUMP may return to Instagram and Facebook

MUSK, 51, is said to be imposing new sanctions against accounts that send inappropriate messages and openly advocate violence, but the veteran businessman’s hands will be tied in some cases.

Because investors who support MUSK may object to new decisions about the account of some people and even withdraw their investments in this way. Twitter’s new CEO has set up a supervisory council to prevent this.

This council will control the important decisions made about Twitter. This entity will decide where freedom of speech on Twitter should be limited and which of the people who were suspended should be returned.

MUSK had previously called TRUMP morally wrong for the suspension. In this context, the former US President can return to Twitter and continue where he left off.

The 76-year-old politician, who was removed from Instagram and Facebook in addition to Twitter for his posts for the 2021 US Capitol Raid, was accused by Facebook founder Mark ZUCKERBERG of undermining democracy and supporting acts of violence rather than condemning them.

The team of ZUCKERBERG, who softened his words in order not to further fuel the polarization between TRUMP supporters and TRUMP opponents, requested that the punishment imposed on TRUMP be reduced. While Twitter’s former administration advocated a permanent suspension, Facebook’s final decision on this issue was unpredictable.

It seems that there are some investors who are pressing the founder of Facebook for this matter. The suspension of TRUMP on January 7, 2023 will technically lose its effect, but Nick CLEGG, who worked as the Vice President of Global Affairs at Meta on June 4, 2021, signaled that this suspension decision could be continued in practice.

If TRUMP’s account is reactivated on January 7, 2023 and TRUMP violates the rules once again, his account may be suspended for more than 2 years or he may be suspended for life.

The former US President will not be able to use his Facebook account immediately because Facebook officials will assess whether the risk to public safety has been reduced. In this evaluation, it will be discussed whether the unrest caused by the events of 2 years ago continues to be effective today.

If Facebook officials decide that it would be risky for TRUMP to return to Facebook, January 7, 2023 will not matter and the former US President will continue to be unable to use Instagram and Facebook.
