The Provenance Blockchain Foundation has appointed Citigroup executive Morgan McKenney as CEO.

McKenney was COO of Citigroup for 18 years.

Provenance Blockchain is an open-source blockchain created for the financial services industry that aims to enable firms to digitize and reduce costs and risks.

Founded in 2013, Provenance Blockchain has processed more than $3 billion in transactions so far. More than 50 financial institutions also use Provenance Blockchain.

Earlier this year, several US banks partnered to develop a US dollar-pegged stablecoin that would run on the Provenance blockchain.
