In the world of smartphones, where competition is at a high level, foldable devices have become very popular lately. Many important companies are in competition with each other in this field. The year 2023 will be a year in which many well-equipped devices will take the stage.

Google Pixel Fold, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and more

There has been a great competition in the foldable smartphone world, where Apple has not yet taken the stage. In addition to companies such as Google, Samsung and Xiaomi, names such as OnePlus and Lenovo rolled up their sleeves. Here are the models that are expected to be introduced before the end of this year;

Google Pixel Fold

Google introduced its first foldable smartphone at its I/O 2023 event in May, but we included it on our list because it has not been released yet. The Pixel Fold, which will be available in the coming days, will have a 5.8-inch FHD+ OLED on the outside and a 7.6-inch OLED display with a 6:5 aspect ratio on the inside. The foldable phone will be powered by the Tensor G2 chipset, which is also used in the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. It will feature 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB / 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.

On the camera side, it includes a triple setup. It houses a 48 Megapixel primary, 10.8 MP ultra wide and 10.8 MP telephoto lens with up to 5x optical zoom and 20x super resolution zoom. It should be noted that these cameras can record 4K 60 FPS video. On the inner and outer screens, 9.5 Megapixel and 8 Megapixel selfie cameras appear.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

Galaxy Z Fold 5, which will take the stage towards the end of July, will use Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy. As it is known, the processor was specially produced by Qualcomm for the Galaxy S23 series. The device is expected to come with 12GB of RAM and Android 13.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5

Samsung will introduce its transverse foldable model with the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The device will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor, as in the Fold model. Samsung is making a design change with the Galaxy Z Flip 5. In the Galaxy Z Flip family, the cover screen has so far been offered to users with a single external screen.

However, according to the latest reports, the foldable phone will break new ground and will have two cover screens. Here, one of the external screens will be positioned next to the camera setup as usual, and the second will be placed in such a way that it covers the entire top.

OnePlus Fold

OnePlus’ expected foldable model is getting ready to rival Samsung. The model, which is expected to be called OnePlus Fold or OnePlus V Fold, is expected to take the stage a few weeks after the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be located on the processor seat of the device. The device, which is stated to be introduced with a 5.4-inch external and 7.1-inch internal screen, will have an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. On the other hand, it is among the leaked information that a 50 Megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor lens will be used.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 3

Thanks to its impressive features, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 aims to be one step ahead of its foldable competitors. First of all, let’s mention that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will be used in the device. It is said that the 5x periscope lens we see in Xiaomi’s other flagships will be included. There will also be IP certification, which we are not used to seeing on a folding phone.

According to the leaks, the selfie camera of the device will be under the screen. Moreover, it is said that this job will be handled at least as well as Samsung. It will also be a first for the Mix Folds series. Finally, it is worth noting that there will be features such as 50W wireless charging.
