Midnight, a vertical take-off and landing aircraft designed by the US-based aviation company Archer, was developed as a fully electric vehicle. The aircraft, which has the capacity to fly up to 160 kilometers, is designed for urban journeys up to 80 kilometers.
Designed with a speed capacity of 241 kilometers, the vehicle aims to reduce journeys that take hours to minutes. The vehicle, which can travel 40 kilometers in 10 minutes, can carry 4 passengers except the pilot. Midnight, which also offers the opportunity to carry luggage, can travel 32 kilometers with 12 minutes of charging.
The aircraft, which operates 100 times quieter than a helicopter, is expected to offer an alternative to road transportation with its competitive pricing policy. Many test flights have been carried out with the vehicle to date. Certification processes for the vehicle, which aims to achieve safety certification at similar levels with commercial airlines, are continuing.
The vehicle, which is planned to be used in different areas such as passenger transportation, cargo and logistics, and emergency services, is aimed to serve as a taxi in the United Arab Emirates and India in 2026.
