Floating wind turbines are now starting to be replaced by offshore gravel wind turbines, which do not upset anyone in terms of capital return. Wind turbines mounted on steel foundations driven into the seabed in places where the sea is shallow are widely used, especially in countries with shallow continental shelves, such as Europe.

While the idea of a turbine on the sea was very expensive in the past, it is now more advantageous in some cases, as there are always smooth winds on the sea and offshore turbines reach gigantic sizes and reduce costs.

Floating turbines are now approaching the point of new investment craze, as it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a shallow area between 20-40 meters in the open sea, or almost non-existent in countries with rapidly deepening seas like ours.

The great race continues to balance the turbines floating in the deep sea around the world and rotating with huge wind resistance. While there is currently a total amount of 227 MW in 14 different projects in 7 countries, the planned investment amount has reached 244 GW and 285 projects. However, the number a year ago was 185 GW and 230 projects.

Of these projects, the amount under construction is only 46 MW in total in only 3 projects. Of the other projects, 68 GW are in the planning and financing phase, while 175 GW are being prepared for early development and financing application. While Italy has the most project plans, with a total of around 40 GW, only 90 MW of these projects are at the planning and investment application stage.
