Axiom Space, a private space company, signed a mission that was a first for humanity on April 8th. With the mission carried out in partnership with NASA and SpaceX’s Crew Dragon vehicle, the International Space Station (ISS) began to host civilian astronauts for the first time in its history. But civilian astronauts landing on the ISS will have to stay in space longer than planned.
NASA announced in its newly shared statement that the bad weather conditions off Florida, where SpaceX landed the Crew Dragon vehicle, delayed the return date of the astronauts. Moreover, this postponement was not just a one-day postponement. Civil astronauts, who are scheduled to return on April 20, will be able to return on April 24 with the new postponement.
There is enough material for everyone:
In the continuation of the statement made by NASA, information was also given about the stocks on the ISS. NASA announced that there is enough food on the station for all 11 people there. On the other hand, the mood of the civilian astronauts who went to the station for the first time and probably faced difficult conditions was not mentioned. With the
Ax-1 mission, the International Space Station became home to Canadian investor Mark Pathy, American real estate investor Larry Connor, and former Israeli Air Force pilot Eytan Stibbe. The three names arrived at the station, led by veteran NASA astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria.
