First step for a notch-less iPhone
When it comes to smartphones, we encounter more advanced camera and panel features every year. However, under-display camera (UDC) technology is still in its infancy. Although we have seen a few examples of this, the problems of light efficiency and image distortion have not been solved. However, this may change very soon.
Going back to the past, Apple made a big change with the iPhone X and removed the frame on the screen along with the middle button. However, instead of a frameless design, a notch was added to the phones. The biggest reason for this was Face ID and TrueDepth technologies. Therefore, the new development is an important milestone for iPhones. However, it will take some time before we see the first iPhone models with this technology.
It will be ready in 2026
So much so that the earliest date is 2026. In other words, it will be used in the iPhone 18 family and beyond. However, considering Apple’s standards, we may see a switch to under-screen Face ID first, which means a punch-hole camera may be adopted first. We should point out that this development is not a surprise.
Last October, reports were shared that the iPhone 16 Pro would have a perforated design. New information confirms this. That being the case, we will have to wait a while longer for unplugged iPhones.
