After the news that Elon Musk would take 9.2% of Twitter in the past days, Twitter was full of dreams of new features. When the poll that Musk shared after this news was about tweet editing, the feature that has been requested for years has been on the agenda again. Twitter announced that it is working on the tweet editing feature with a surprise statement on this agenda.
Here are the first images from that feature, shared as a screenshot by Alessandro Paluzzi the other day. Paluzzi gave place to both the edit button and the edit page on Twitter. Some details that are not included in the screenshots caused confusion in users.
Tweet editing feature looks like this:
As can be seen in the screenshot above, a user who wants to edit his tweet, after pressing the three dots on the top right of the tweets, ‘ will be able to access the feature from the ‘edit tweet’ button. The following screen will appear in front of the user who chooses this option:
As you can see, the tweet editing screen does not offer much change compared to the tweet sharing screen. While the scheduling feature is naturally turned off, it has also been seen that polls cannot be added to shared Tweets later. It can also be seen that the location and pictures can be changed on the tweet editing screen.
There are two expectations regarding the tweet editing feature. The first is that Twitter offers a public edit history for edited tweets. The second is to mark edited tweets with a special badge.
Screenshots do not include tweet edit history. However, since the screenshots are still under development, it can be said that it is likely to be added in the coming period. However, since Twitter has not yet officially confirmed its editing history, we are likely to encounter scenes that users do not want. We also do not know whether it was marked with a special badge, as the screenshots do not show the tweet after the update. However, it is considered that at least one of these two features will come.
