Many companies, especially Tesla, Nvidia and AMD, are working on fully autonomous vehicles. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) made a statement about the level 4 autonomous taxi project called TXAI.
Announced at the Abu Dhabi Smart City Summit event in November 2021, TXAI was led by Bayanat. The TXAI tests, the first autonomous taxi project to take place in the UAE, were carried out between 23 November and 27 December 2021. The autonomous taxi, used by more than 2733 passengers in total, has traveled thousands of kilometers.
Level 4 autonomous taxi TXAI traveled a total distance of 16.000 km
Working in fields such as data analytics and artificial intelligence, Bayanat has successfully completed the first phase of the autonomous taxi project, which she named TXAI. WeRide, one of Bayanat’s key partners, is known as the world leader in level 4 autonomous driving technologies.
Announcing the successful completion of the first phase of the project, officials announced that the second phase will start in mid-2022 with 10 TXAI. Autonomous taxis, which will serve in different locations, will provide customers with a high-tech experience.
Making a statement on the subject, Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Bayanat, said, “The launch of the TXAI project is the first of its kind in the MENA region. Thanks to our partnership with WeRide, a global technology leader in autonomous driving, we have successfully completed the first phase. We will continue our strategic investments for smart city projects.” said.
WeRide CEO Tony Han said, “At WiRide, we are excited to work with Bayanat in different regions, especially in the UAE. It is a really good feeling to offer autonomous driving technologies and services to people. We were inspired by Bayanat’s commitment to developing innovative transportation systems. Just as Thomas Edison invented the light bulb for humanity, WeRide is developing the best autonomous driving technologies for the future.” made statements.
