Messaging apps usually don’t charge for the service they provide, and we use our data for targeted advertising. If you remember, the new privacy policy of WhatsApp, which worked with this model last year, was aimed at using our data in more advanced advertising plans. Although the relevant policy was not imposed as a result of the objections, the application continued to remain paid and to use our data.
But there are also apps on the market like Telegram and Signal that say we can keep our minds on the privacy of our data. However, since these applications cannot use our data or use it in a limited way, they cannot generate income, so the companies or teams that develop the application cannot create financial resources. Telegram is preparing to solve this problem with a paid subscription option.
The first information about Telegram Premium is in the iOS beta version: No price information for now
The information shared on the Telegram channel called Telegram Beta, which has more than 35 thousand members, is the application’s information. It appeared in the v8.7.2 beta version released for iOS. The first feature that is stated to be available in the premium version appears to be some special reactions and stickers.
The paid version of Telegram will be a second option available to users alongside the existing free version. It is not yet clear whether users who will access the premium version will gain critical benefits such as greater privacy. However, it is obvious that Telegram Premium users will have advantages that will indicate that they use a more premium version in chats and channels.
