As Google continues to work on its new smartphones, information about the devices began to come. According to the details of Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, the devices will have a second generation Tensor processor. In addition, the phones will have a new Samsung modem.
Codenames refer to the feline family
Last October, information emerged that Google was working on the second-generation Tensor processor. It was stated that the model number of the processor with the code name “Cloudripper” is GS201. New information shows that the processor will come with an Exynos modem.
It is stated that the second generation Tensor processor may have the Exynos Modem 5300 with the model number “g5300b” when compared with the model numbers of previous products.
In addition to Cloudripper, three additional device codenames associated with the Exynos Modem 5300 were found in the source code. Two of these code names have the names Cheetah (Cheetah) and Panther (Panther). These two code names are thought to belong to the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, which is expected to be powered by the second generation Tensor processor.
Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro has codenames “Oriole” and “Raven” respectively. On the face of it, they’re both a bird species and similarly match the codenames “Bluejay” for the Pixel 6a and “Pipit” for the Pixel Notepad in terms of species. Using code names for aquatic life on devices before Pixel 6, Google is switching to the feline family with its new series.
