Firefox Focus will give nightmares to sites that don’t use SSL!

SSL certificate is a must-have instrument for every publishing site in 2022. While almost every site we visit nowadays has an SSL certificate, there are some exceptions. Sites that have not been updated for years open the door to our data being tracked by others because they do not have this certificate. Firefox Focus will close the door to sites that do not have a certificate with its new feature.

Firefox Focus blocks non-SSL sites with its new feature

Firefox has a significant market share on mobile platforms. The fact that they also release different versions for different needs, rather than focusing on a single browser, is an important reason for their market share in mobile. Firefox Focus is the privacy-focused version of these versions. When you use Focus, sites that violate your privacy are blocked directly. Blocking options now include sites that don’t use the HTTPS protocol.

Firefox Focus also brought customization options with its new version. You can now change the wallpaper or color on your homepage. Even though it’s a small feature, a browser we use every day should have them.

If the site you are visiting does not have SSL, the link will appear as ‘http://’ instead of ‘https://’. In this case, the data you send to and receive from the site can be seen by your internet provider or other people connected to your network. With SSL, it is almost impossible to crack because the data is encrypted end-to-end. While not every site using SSL is secure, at least no third party is involved in your connection.

If you wish, you can enable this new feature from the settings. But you are likely to have problems accessing some old sites.
