Mozilla Foundation started testing a new feature for the popular internet browser Firefox. This new feature seems to be of critical importance for online shopping, which has now become an integral part of our lives. Because the new feature called “Review Checker” will check the comments about a product you are considering buying and help you understand whether the product is really “good” or not.
The new feature prepared for Firefox analyzes the comments made for a product with the help of its special algorithm. Review Checker eliminates reviews that appear to be fake and then re-rates them out of 5 stars, thus allowing the user to see real reviews about the product. Let’s say that Firefox uses Fakespot’s technology, which Mozilla acquired in recent months, for this feature. This technology, with the support of artificial intelligence, characterizes similar and fake comments as “unsafe”.
This is what Firefox’s new feature looks like:
Review Checker does not only filter unsafe comments with its artificial intelligence support. You can review the compilation of comments about a product and which features stand out through this feature. If there are thousands of reviews about the product you want to buy, you will have the opportunity to save time with the Review Checker.
Mozilla has not made a statement regarding when the Review Checker feature will be available. It is also currently unknown on which e-commerce platforms this feature will be available. Although test users were able to access this new feature through Amazon, it is thought that this feature will be active for many more e-commerce platforms in the future. We will have to wait a while longer for all this to become clear.
