The Ukrainian government has made a new request to provide certain financial information in the local crypto industry.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) had requested four local crypto companies (Kuna, CoinPay, GEO Pay and Qmall) to provide financial statements for the first two quarters of 2023. Michael Chobanyan, founder of crypto exchange Kuna, shared the news about the latest request from the NBU, citing a document released by “Politics of country” on July 3.

Documents published within the framework of financial demand

According to documents requested by the Ukrainian government, the NBU has asked crypto companies to provide information on their operating volumes as well as the purchase and transfer of funds. In addition, the NBU stated that Ukrainian crypto companies will issue disclosures for all accounts from the beginning of 2023. Later, Kuna CEO Chobanyan confirmed the news on his Telegram channel.

Chobanyan made a statement saying, “There is no such information in Ukraine, and it has never happened.” Saying that the so-called government’s course is clear, the CEO said;

“In the past two weeks, the first wave of searches on exchanges, triggered by the actions of the NBU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine, took place in Kiev and throughout Ukraine. There will be more searches and exchanges.”
