It’s no secret that the iPhone 15 series is expected to have a USB-C connector instead of Lightning. Because the new laws of the European Union force the iPhone manufacturer to abandon Lightning.
After the CAD drawings, which appeared in the past days and gave the first signals of the use of USB-C on iPhones, this time the photo, which is said to belong to an iPhone 15 Pro, has emerged. This new image, published on the MacRumors site, known for its leaks, comes from a Twitter user named Unknownz21.
As with all other leaks regarding iPhones, there is no way to verify the image at this point. We’re looking at the underside of a device that could be an iPhone in the photo. The screws surrounding the USB-C port and the speakers on either side of these screws look familiar. It is possible to see them when examining the bottom of any current iPhone. But it’s impossible for us to see the USB-C port on an iPhone yet.
If this photo is real, it also shows another iPhone 15 design detail that has been the subject of rumors. It can be seen that the screen edges are curved instead of straight.
Finally, if it’s an iPhone 15 Pro in the image above, then we might be looking at a different metal. Apple may use titanium instead of stainless steel in the iPhone 15 Pro models.
All iPhone 15 models are expected to offer USB-C connectivity. But only the Pro series will have high transfer speeds. The base iPhone 15 and Plus will stay at the speeds available in Lightning.
