The news that pleases PC players who are fans of the Final Fantasy series has arrived. Square Enix has confirmed that the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI, the last game in the series, is officially in the making. The official announcement was made by the game’s producer, Naoki Yoshida, from the official Final Fantasy account on X, formerly Twitter.

Final Fantasy 16 PC version on the way

No release date has been given for the PC port of Final Fantasy 16, but more information will be announced by the end of 2023. Yoshida used the following statements in his statement: “Although Final Fantasy 16 was released exclusively for Playstation 5, we are aware that many of you want a PC version. Let me take this opportunity to officially announce that development work on a PC version is underway”

Yoshida also stated that the game will be supported with two paid DLCs for the current PlayStation 5. As with the PC port, it is stated that we will get more information about the two DLC packs before the end of the year. So we lack firm dates for both the DLCs and the PC port. Yoshida had previously said that optimizing the PC version of the game takes time and resources. Implying that optimization was not very possible even in “half a year” at that time, Yoshida announced that the PC version would eventually come. Therefore, considering that Final Fantasy 16 was released in June, it would not be wrong to expect the PC version to be released in the middle of next year.
