Electronic Arts, one of the largest game studios in the world, has been keeping the throne in the hearts of football-loving players with its new FIFA game almost every year since 1994. So much so that the FIFA series is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s best-selling sports game.
We shared with you that the World Cup mode, which was released in the past months and is expected to come to FIFA 23, the newest game of the series, has leaked. Today, this highly anticipated mode has finally been officially introduced.
You will be able to play the real fixture
In the promotional video shared by EA, a lot of information about the new World Cup mode was shared. The most striking of these information is that the game can be played with real World Cup teams and real fixtures. From November 21 to December 18, players will be able to play the group stages of the World Cup in real time. You can play against the artificial intelligence alone, as well as with the team of the country you choose, in multiplayer, with the team that is your opponent according to the other fixtures.
On the other hand, EA officials, who give freedom to users, also state that users can change the fate of the trophy by replaying old matches if they want. Considering the players of the countries whose national team could not take part in the World Cup, the officials also announced that an extra 15 teams can be added to the tournament and a new fixture can be created with these teams.
New cards will also be added to the game
In addition to the World Cup, EA will also offer 30 “World Cup Heroes” FUT cards on the day this tournament mode is available to players. All of these cards will be “Hero” themed and can only be obtained during the World Cup. It was also announced that a FUT deck called “World Cup FUT Phenomenons” will be released on the day the quarter-finals begin.
Of course, the additions to the game are not limited to these. EA officials announced that between November 11 and December 23, new modes will be added to the game, except for the World Cup, and two stadiums, including the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, where the final match will be held, special announcer voiceovers, cutscenes, cheers and goal celebrations will be added to the world cup.
The World Cup mode will be available for free to all FIFA 23 owners with the upcoming update on November 9.
