If you remember, we shared with you yesterday the news of the students who started protesting in the dormitory of Kanuni Sultan Süleyman KYK. Students, who had difficulties in transportation to this dormitory in Başakşehir, expressed their complaints by stating that there were many extortions on the way from the bus stops to the dormitory. Students also suffered from the slow internet speed in the dormitory.
After the events in the dormitory, the popular Twitch broadcaster Jahrein stated that he was with the students with his post on Twitter and called for help to the authorities. Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu said that he will listen to this call of Jahrein and improve the opportunities in the dormitory.
Bus services doubled
The mayor kept his promise and announced that they started working in the KYK dormitory with his post today. IMM, which started free internet service in the country, stated that it doubled its bus services and that police officers were placed in the places where the said incidents took place.
After this post, Jahrein shared Ekrem İmamoğlu’s improvements by saying “I am your megaphone” on Twitter. The statement made by the famous publisher included the following statements; “I am in contact with my friends in the Kss dormitory. I follow what has been done. 1- fiber is being laid 2- bus services have doubled 3- ibb wifi is recommended as a temporary solution. I thank everyone who contributed on behalf of my student friends. Your voice is your voice. I am your megaphone.”
