iPhone 16 Pro & 16 Pro Max expected features
Jeff Pu shared his predictions for iPhone 16 features based on his sources in Apple’s supply chain. According to Pu, the iPhone 16 Pro series will be equipped with a faster 5G modem, WiFi 7 and a new ultra-wide lens.
The new iPhones will increase slightly in screen size. It will be 0.2 inches larger compared to the current sizes of 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches. With the iPhone 16 Pro coming in a larger size, Apple will place the tetra prism lens that provides 5x optical zoom, introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, on the smaller Pro model. Both the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models will have a 12MP tetra prism lens that will provide better zoom.
Improvement in the camera is not limited to this. The ultra-wide lens, which has not been changed since the iPhone 13 Pro, is expected to be upgraded. The ultra-wide camera on the iPhone 16 Pro will have a 48MP sensor, while the current models use a 12MP sensor. On the chip side, the iPhone 16 Pro will be equipped with a 3-nanometer Apple A18 Pro processor. On the memory side, Apple is not expected to upgrade the RAM on new iPhones.
iPhone 16 Pros will offer even faster speeds on WiFi and 5G. The new iPhones are expected to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X75 modem, which provides 5G download speeds of up to 7.5Gbps – thanks to the 5G Advanced standard. 16 Pros will also offer speeds of up to 46Gbps with WiFi 7 connectivity.
iPhone 16 & 16 Plus expected features
Plain iPhone 16 models will continue to use dual rear cameras. There will be an ultra-wide camera with a 12MP sensor, there will be no autofocus and macro. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will feature a different version of the A17 chip instead of the A17 Pro and will come with 8GB of RAM. The 5G modem is expected to be kept the same, supporting WiFi 6e connectivity.
