There are only a few days left for iOS 16, the new operating system of iPhone. Critical leaks continue to come for iOS 16, which is expected to be announced with Apple’s developer conference WWDC 2022 on June 6th. With the new iOS, Always on Display and widget will come to the fore.
What are the new features for iOS 16 and tvOS 16?
A new report by Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman revealed some of the key points of the latest iPhone update. Allegedly, Apple wants to make the iPhone lock screen more useful. Gurman also stated that changes will be made in the notification panel in the Health application.
The first innovation for the iPhone lock screen was the ability to perform more actions without having to unlock it. According to Gurman, Apple will offer it with widgets or wallpapers with similar capabilities.
Beyond the lock screen being more functional, Always on Display support is expected to arrive. This feature, which is already available on many Android phones and Apple Watches, is possible thanks to the dynamic refresh rate of the iPhone screen.
However, the Always on Display feature will only be given to the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, although the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro Max support dynamic refresh rate.
Gurman claimed that in addition to the lock screen details, the Messages app will also gain “more social network-like functionality.” It is unclear what these innovations will be for now, but it especially drew attention to voice messages.
Apart from iOS 16 innovations, there will be some interesting changes with the Apple TV operating system tvOS 16. Mark Gurman said that Apple’s “smart home control” capabilities will improve. Currently, with tvOS, it is possible to view video from HomeKit security cameras and receive notifications with the doorbell camera.
