FCA wants to build a crypto team with the ability to manage and regulate the industry.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the UK’s financial watchdog, is seeking an executive to head the digital assets department and set up a new team, according to a job posting on LinkedIn.
The nominated person is expected to be involved in implementing the FCA’s regulatory activities.
The person to head the department will also need to assemble the team, establish the regulatory crypto policy, support innovation in the crypto industry, and align the FCA with government policies and guidelines.
The job posting highlights that the nominated person will lead a cross-industry crypto strategy and will also collaborate with international regulators. It was noted that the deadline for the posting was April 3rd.
The regulator also announced last week that they are seeking a director of payments and digital assets to oversee the policy.
