The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has named the new head of digital assets.

While the areas of activity of the crypto money industry continue to expand, countries are making changes for consumer-oriented studies through digital currencies. FCA, which currently has 56 crypto companies, has changed the chair of the digital asset.

New Head of Digital Asset to FCA

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has appointed Binu Paul, a former fintech expert of the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) in New Zealand, as head of digital assets.

According to the news in The Block, Binu Paul replaces Victoria McLoughlin, who has held the post of interim head of digital assets since April.

Paul announced he was leaving the FMA on September 11, after a two-year role leading New Zealand’s efforts to support innovation in the financial services sector. He previously led FMA’s intelligence team, having a career in investment and portfolio management.

FCA is currently seeking ways to foster regulated innovation through programs such as Regulatory Sandbox, a testing ground for fintech offerings, and Innovative Pathways, a stepping stone for innovative financial products. The election of a former fintech expert as FCA’s head of digital assets stands out as one of the important steps in this regard.
