Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team (NCET) will assess which types of crypto-related crimes require more resources to investigate and prosecute cases.
According to the press release, prosecutor Eun Young Choi will lead the team.
Announcing the new unit in a keynote speech at the Munich Cybersecurity Conference, Monaco stated that the team will conduct its own blockchain analysis and seize assets involved in crime.
