Explaining how he has been extremely critical of Bitcoin and the crypto space so far, he said:

“To say I’m skeptical about bitcoin and the rest of the crypto universe would be an expression of epic proportions. Since the early 2010s, some of my wildest Twitter battles have been with laser eyes against the HODL army.”

What changed its mind about the need for Bitcoin is that the Canadian government’s recent He said that he had an authoritarian reaction and said;

“First the Ottawa police department had Gofundme confiscate the donations with the intent of diverting donations to other causes, then after an outcry they withdrew to block it for only 7-10 days before returning the money. This seemed like a brutal escalation, in stark contrast to the tens of millions of dollars raised for social justice causes in the protest summer of 2020. But at the time, I thought this was something that another fundraising platform was less likely to cooperate with Canadian authorities. GiveSendGo is really starting to do that.”

Concern about donations quickly turned out to be insignificant, as a few days later the Canadian prime minister imposed martial law on the protesters. Through the catastrophic forces, he forced both Canadian protesters and donors to freeze their bank accounts, require tow truck operators to clear the streets, and force insurance companies to drop policies for protesters.

The programmer added that he understands that he is too hasty to reject crypto entirely at the moment, adding that crypto has a chance to preserve its fundamental freedom of transaction.
