A new regulation is coming from the Ministry to e-commerce platforms that have attracted millions of people in recent years and have grown exponentially with the pandemic process. While the platforms are transforming into marketplaces where competition is at the highest level, the Ministry of Commerce, which wants to keep competition vigorous and fair, takes new decisions regarding the markets.
With the regulation being worked on, the ongoing unfair competition in e-commerce platforms will be intervened to some extent. For the balanced growth and development of e-commerce, promotional activities that exclude competitors in the market will be prevented, sales of counterfeit products and illegal content will be detected and removed. Especially the removal of products with hundreds of originals and tens of dollars worth of fakes will be one of the changes that will affect the users the most.
New era for sellers
With the decisions to be taken by the Ministry of Commerce, sellers will breathe easier. E-commerce platforms will not be able to compete unfairly with their vendors by using the data they have obtained. In addition, the activities of e-commerce marketplaces will be determined and the proportional growth of the sector will be ensured.
These platforms will also be prevented from forcing sellers to supply goods or services from a specific person. Every seller can buy goods or services from any person or place. In addition, the obstacles to the ability of sellers to sell on more than one e-commerce platform will be removed.
Finally, unfair terms cannot be included in the contracts made between the market places and the sellers, and these markets cannot make any unilateral changes in the contract.
