Viewers of your Facebook profile will not be able to obtain direct information about your faith, sexual orientation, address and political ideology. This regulation will be effective from 1 December 2022. So what are the details?Why will Facebook sign this change?
According to a Twitter post shared by Matt Navarra, the popular social media platform seems to prioritize the privacy of religious belief and sexual orientation.
Although it is stated in the related image that Facebook will eliminate only these 2 areas, TechCrunch Editor Aisha Malik stated that a Facebook official reached her and said the following words to her:
“The reason behind this change is to make Facebook easier to use. As part of our efforts to make it easier to navigate and use, we’re removing important information fields such as sexual orientation, religious opinion, political opinion, and address.”
“We send notifications to people who add their own information to these fields that these fields will be removed. This change will not impede anyone’s freedom to share this information about them elsewhere on Facebook. Anyone can post this information in a text, video or photo on their profile.”
