Competition between social media applications is increasing day by day. The fact that the platforms bring similar features to each other and thus have similar features makes things even more deadlock. Finally, Facebook will allow content producers to monetize videos with licensed music.
The program appeared under the name ‘Music Revenue Sharing’
On Monday, Meta announced via a blog post that creators at Facebook can monetize videos they create using licensed music. This project was named ‘Music Revenue Sharing’.
Until now, creators at Facebook used licensed music in their videos. However, they were not generating any income from these videos. With the new system, this situation seems to change.
According to the statement, there are some eligibility requirements and rules to participate in this program. These rules are as follows:
- Videos must be at least 60 seconds long.
- Eligible videos will be posted on the Facebook Page.
- The creators choose a song from Facebook’s Licensed Music library. This library is available in Creator Studio.
Among the songs Facebook has deemed appropriate are popular hits from artists such as Post Malone, Tove Love, Grupo La Cumbia, Bicep and Leah Kate. Manufacturers using this system must meet these conditions both for broadcasting and for monetization. At the same time, content creators will receive a 20% revenue share from eligible videos. He will share the rest with the music rights holders and Meta.
This feature, which was first used in the USA, is expected to be used in other countries in the coming months. Additionally, the company aims to expand its Licensed Music library. He announced that they will continue to work with their music partners for this.
